Foam Dogs LLC

www.foamdogs.com

After starting up 3 years ago with a spray foam insulation company, we have continued through the economic downturn and this year look to be the first profitable one with the tax breaks for insulation improvements. Many clients are also giving great feedback on our products and services while finding that for tricky areas like crawl spaces that this solution has many benifits over traditional insulations by adding structural strength, being waterproof, insulation better and being a permenant solution to cold floors and walls.

We hope in 2011 to add more services, invest in additional equipment and push to hire returning veterans as a way to give back to the local community and those who served.

Dayton to Recruit Google’s High Speed Network

For those of you who don't know, Google is working to build and test an ultra high-speed network in a number of trial locations across the country. They claim that it will deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today, with over 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections. For more information about their plans, check out www.google.com/appserve/fiberrfi.

Several organizations throughout the Dayton Region have come together to respond to Google's Request for Information. As part of the response, a website and Facebook fan page have been set up to allow people to show their support of the initiative. The goal is to let Google know that Dayton is an average American city that does awesome things.

If you compare the regional statistics for things like age, income, education level and more, you'll see that the Dayton Region's numbers fall right in line with the national percentages. This makes us a great test market.

But Dayton also has a history of innovative contributions to the world. It started with the Wright Brothers and continues today with research and development in emerging technologies such as RFID, fuel cell development, advanced immersive reality, micro air machines and more. Image what we could do with an ultra high-speed internet network!

So please show your support of this initiative by visiting the site at www.averageandawesome.com. You can add yourself to the head count of supporters and add your address to the Google map to help visually represent our community's support. Also, if you are so inclined, you can add your own video testimonial telling Google what you would do with their new ultra-fast broadband network.

Please consider adding us as a fan on Facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Dayton-Average-Awesome/361617761779?ref=nf.

Please visit the website to learn more about this exciting opportunity www.averageandawesome.com And click around to see what the next steps are, you’ll see what I mean when you get there : )

Montgomery County

After the holidays are over, what do you do with the tree? Now through January 31, 2010 Montgomery County Solid Waste District will take the leftover live trees free of charge for recycling at both facilities. The trees should be free of ornaments, tree stands, nails and plastic bags. These trees will be recycled into mulch by a local contractor. Residents may bring in up to three trees per vehicle for recycling at no charge through January 31, 2010. Additional trees and general trash and solid waste will be charged at the standard rates. The Holiday Tree Recycling Program is popular because it offers citizens an easy and environmentally sensitive way to dispose of their trees after the holidays and saves on landfill space. The Montgomery County South Solid Waste Facility is located at 1001 Encrete Lane in Moraine and the North facility at 6589 Old Webster Street in Vandalia. Hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Montgomery County

On Tuesday, December 15, 2009, the Montgomery County Commissioners rescinded the 5% water and sewer rate increase that was scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2010.

"Many of our families are struggling during these tough economic times. We hope this decision will help ease some financial stress for our citizens," said Montgomery County Commission President Dan Foley.

Back in 2007, the Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution that would have raised 2010 water and sewer rates by 5%. The decision to forego that rate increase was based on current economic conditions and the negative impact the increase would have had on Montgomery County Water Services customers.

"Montgomery County Water Services has worked to reevaluate its 2010 budget, allowing us to continue offering water and sewer services at the 2009 rate. We are pleased to be able to offer these savings to our customers," added Commissioner Foley.

Rates for 2011 will be evaluated at the end of the upcoming year.
